Similar to the floods on the Ahr in 2015 and 2021, there is enormous willingness to help and donate in Germany in light of the war in Ukraine. In addition to covering medium- and long-term integration needs, there is a huge demand for emergency aid.
Countless private initiatives are helping to distribute food, clothing and medicines, finding accommodation and transporting people and goods. Many of these initiatives spring up virtually overnight, experience enormous demand and work quickly, flexibly and in line with needs. What is often lacking, however, is non-profit infrastructure for the rapid and efficient implementation of emergency aid projects.
WE AID is the first non-profit organisation in Germany with an international focus that handles spontaneous or temporary emergency aid. temporary crisis relief. WE AID gGmbH offers a professional, temporary non-profit organisational structure and enables private initiatives to implement their charitable commitments within a few days.
